The members of the APSEND National Network for MAT CEOs are spread reasonably equally across all nine regions of England. Together, our members are responsible for 265 school sites and education settings, with our largest MAT having 29 individual sites, and our smallest having only 1.
Although pupil numbers in AP and SEND are flexible and frequently change dependent on need, our members report that in general there is a total of 52,507 young people and children supported by our members’ trusts.
Our trusts represent EYFS, Primary, secondary, post 16 and all through schools, with the majority of member trusts running Special Schools, Alternative Provision (AP) Academies, SEMH Provisions and services such as Outreach.
Our members also run a range of more specialist settings such as: Tier Four CAMHS units; hospital schools; specialist units attached to mainstream schools; 1 to 1 and home tuition services; and specialist post 16 provision.
